Lt. Gen. Petraeus is not the author of the aforementioned plan. Credit should go to academic Fredrick Kagan and Gen. Jack Keane (U.S. Army Ret) of the American Enterprise Institute and their
Choosing Victory: A Plan for Success in Iraq.
LTG Petraeus is a sharp man well suited for the job, the job of executing the Presidents policy. I was surprised that he or LTG Mattis (I would be a happy man if Mattis ran for President) was not picked to head Central Command, instead the President picked a Naval Aviator, it escapes me why (I have some theories).
Also a number of conservative Republicans, and retired Officers have reservations regarding "the plan". But what the hell do they know? They probably are RINOs, follow the lib MSM instead of listen to Hannity, don't support our troops, and are athiestliberalmuslims anyway.
