Radical cleric sparks fury in Australia

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070118/...ic_controversy

"The lectures were denounced as offensive by Australian government leaders and as not helpful by the head of the Islamic Friendship Association. The chief of the opposition Labor Party called them an incitement to terrorism."

"'Keysar Trad, the president of the Islamic Friendship Association, said the remarks were not helpful for Muslims in Australia.

"This doesn't make it easier to encourage dialogue, we encourage dialogue and mutual respect," he told Nine network television.'"

Not helpful? And what's up with this "Islamic Friendship Association" Really making friends and influencing people.

"Mutual Respect"?? Funny way of showing it.

It is getting on ridicilous whats going on...these guys seem to think its ok to preach this sort of nonsense and to get away with it.

They may get away with it in the UK and other european countries but the aussies wont stand for it....i think they might even revoke the guys citizenship and tell him to piss off where he came from..

Its because of idiots like this alot of problems exist!

Notice how the sheik and other clerics recommend martyrdom for others but do not commit themselves to that task?

How about a big wave of radical clerics soaking themselves in gasoline and torching themselves off in public places to protest policies, instead?

I could get behind that and would be willing to start the movement with a five- gallon can of Premium.

Those unwilling to participate could be helped along with it.

Just a thought.

I'll donate the flare to set it off. Just my way of saying, "Thanks"!
