SPECIAL FORCES TEAM BEATS TIGER WOODS

SPECIAL FORCES TEAM BEATS TIGER WOODS

Inspired by Tiger Wood’s generous donation of $50,000 to the Special Operations Warrior Foundation,
two Special Forces Soldiers set out to beat the six time PGA Player of the Year.

But not in golf.

MAJ Joe Martin and Master Sergeant Rex Dodson, authors of Get Selected for Special Forces, have donated all of their royalties to the Special Operations Warrior Foundation (www.specialops.org), which provides college scholarships and education counseling to the children of Special Operations Personnel killed in training or combat operations.

To date, they have raised over $53,000 towards scholarships funded by the Warrior Foundation.

"We wanted a way to be able to contribute in a much bigger way. Special Forces are known for their unconventional methods of problem-solving and this is an unconventional donation. We wanted to create a recurring, continual philanthropy that would exponentially increase our contribution while lasting beyond a normal monetary contribution. This is something we are very passionate about," explained Martin. "Our goal is to continue funding several full college scholarships for years to come for children who have lost so much."

The fact he could tell his father, a golf fanatic, that he beat Tiger Woods was just frosting on the cake.

John T. Carney, Jr., President/CEO of the Special Operations Warrior Foundation, said, "We are excited that Joe and Rex have joined our team. Their dedication to make a difference in the lives of children who have lost a parent speaks volumes of their character."

The Special Operations Warrior Foundation currently has 113 students enrolled in colleges and universities across the country.
Over 678 children are in the foundation's program.
