Style Points?

As a Florida Gator fan, I am sick of hearing about style points. This isn't a beauty pagent and defenses aren't usually pretty. By forcing teams to run up scores you throw sportsmanship out the window and really take away from the game. Do you guys think this season will really make the NCAA sit down and look at a possible playoff system?

I truly believe Ohio State is the best team in the country, but I think to determine the best between Michigan, USC, and Florida you have to have some kind playoff. It's crazy how everyone says "rematch" right after the Ohio State/Michigan game, but a week later when USC blows out an overrated ND team (who Michigan handled earlier) everyone forgets about Michigan. College football needs a change, much like when instant replay was added. It's just that important.

The NCAA doesn't give a damn about actually putting the best teams against each other, they care about maximizing the income from the various bowl games. And the BCS works just fine to do that. Hell, why do you think that Notre Dame always ends up in a major bowl no matter how poor their team is?

I believe Florida deserves a shot. I do not think the Gators are better than Michigan, and although Michigan played Ohio State and lost, they played in Columbus and lost by only 3 points. Still, it should be the top 2 teams in the game.

And that is where is is difficult to decide #2. Everyone feels the SEC is the toughest conference in college football and the Gators are the SEC Champs. Michigan didn't even win their conference.

But I said before the SEC game and the USC chokefest that if USC lost Michigan should play because I fel they are the #2 team regardless if USC best UCLA or not. And I still feel that way.

So while Florida deserves a shot and can make a case for #2, I think it should (and will) be Michigan vs. Ohio State.

That is as succinct an explanation as ever needed Sir, and I could not agree more. College football sold it's soul for money in lieu of a proven playoff system (div 1AA-III).

That is our policy.” You ask; What is our aim? I can answer with one word: Victory—victory at all costs, victory in spite of all terror, victory however long and hard the road may be; for without victory there is no survival.-Winston Churchill

There is a leak out of Los Angeles from a BCS insider that Florida will be 2nd in the new BCS. A few hours and we'll find out if it's true or not.
