Austin, TX food

If you had time for only ONE restaurant meal in Austin (not dinner -- breakfast or lunch), where would you go?

Find a Freebirds World Burrito. They are delicious and very filling. There's one right off of IH-35 north of the UT campus in the same shopping center as a stand alone Sears. For mexican food I like Chuy's, but Austinites might send you elsewhere. Hope that helps.

Papadeux in front of the Hawthorne Suites. I'm not a great fan of any of the locally owned "Tex-Mex" restaurants. Too used to real Mexican food, I suppose.

County Line BBQ, or Rudy's BBQ, or, if view is more important than food - the Oasis (if it's been rebuilt since the fire).

The restaurant at the Renaissance (Arboretum) is good - and there is a place across the street that's really good, can't remember the name.

When I went to visit family in Austin, and wanted Bar-B-Q, they took me to

Stubbs. Blues, beer and real good bar-b-q.

Thanks everyone. Unfortunately ran out of time, so did not get to any of these places. But it was a perfect time to visit Austin -- great job, K State! LOL

Well before it burned down, the Bitter End & Bistro was always well worth checking out.

My Cousin Works Part time at a Brazilian place called Sao Paolo's on San Jacinto St. Quite good food, and it's just a block from a little pub called the Crown and Anchor which is the heat.
