I am not sure if there any avid triathletes or adventure race fanatics who like a long trek and mountain bike in the mountains but I organize an annual 3 day adventure race in North Borneo in Kota Kinabalu called the sabah adventure challenge.
Teams of 2 or 3 (you choose if you wish to race in a 3 man team) compete over 150-200 km's from dawn to dusk over some tough terrain and navigate your way from basecamp to check points on mt.bike, by trail running/trekking, or tire tubing down a grade 2 river with all your gear...its pretty good if you are looking for a challenge and something different away from triathlons.

We usually get singapore sf guys and some malaysian jungle ranger's but the competition has never been won by a foreign expat team to date.
The sun is hot and the weather extremely humid....but its well worth finishing..
