Dual Firearms: Practical Application?
So I watched Mr. and Mrs. Smith last night and it got me thinking... We've seen it in movies, in video games, even movies about video games - the action-hero gunslinger, a gun in each hand, laying waste to the bad guys, and most of the surrounding environment as well.
But when it comes to reality, how practical is this option, really? Thus, I pose a question...

Having 2 handguns is a good idea. IE when one jam's or your fighting for control of your primary and pull out your other pistol with your offhand.
Shooting both at the same time is just a waste of ammo.
Then I ask the Question why Pistols all the time in movie Gunfights, A Rifle or shotgun is so much better. thats why its the movies or video games its not real, also dont bring swords to gunfight's ninja, Matrix, X-men you can't dodge bullets in real life so dont try it.

The matrix, man....think of the matrix. If Tom Cruise can do that stuff I know that I can. The whole slow motion thing is something that's gonna take some time, though.
Seriously, carrying two guns is good planning. Trying to fire two at a time is something for the big screen. About all it's good for is the CDI factor. (Chicks Dig It)

I moved this to where it belongs.
hollywood invented the bombs that when they explode they "always" explode with lots of fire.
hollywood also invented one handed shooting, never missing, never jamming and of course my favorite, never running out of ammo.

The good guy's run out off ammo but instead of reloading they yell Cut and the Choggy boy runs out and changes the mag. sort of like when teams go on JCET's and we have kids pick up our brass
The bad guys always miss and they have jams. hehee

Wyatt Earp strikes again. Hollywood bullshit. Carry 2 fire one at a time.

Point taken. Thanks TS.
I asked the question tongue in cheek, but the advice regarding the importance of backups really provoked some thinking on my part. Thanks for the feedback everyone.
