Grew up in NY, but have always been partial to the Redwings - as far back as the old 8 team NHL.
I watched the Stars while living in TX, because I could actually get to the games.

Love hockey, but it's not a religion for me - since I'm not skating anymore and being a spectator is not as satisfying as playing, I follow it, but am not consumed by it. Accept us non-rabid types, and you'll feel better.
