I know this is not Army stuff, but these are pretty cool:

That is one hell of a website, and frighteningly relevant. It points out that the threat of ballistic missile attack is REAL and growing. The Strategic Defense Initiative is not just some "Star Wars" fantasy, but a system that needs to be developed (if not deployed right now, research must be conducted).

Unfriendly elements laughed at Ronald Reagan for proposing SDI, but I do believe that it was the straw that broke the back of the Soviet Union. There was no way they could continue to compete with our great nation.

Ya got all the whiners today complaining about pursuing a viable SDI. If Kim Jong Il ever gets his Taepo Dong II missile working, I don't doubt that he'd try to hurl a nuclear warhead against LA, NY, or Washington D.C. If an interceptor from SDI stopped such an attack, the same people would cry that we destroyed another nation's property.

I favor SDI; if it's not a viable system now, we at least need to continue our research.

The USA MUST continue to be the leader in SDI technology. While terrorist delivered "suitcase nukes" are a danger, ballistic missiles from unfriendly governments are just as, if not more so, significantly dangerous. Missile technology continues to proliferate, helped tremendously by North Korea (who knew that such a backwardass country could be so dangerous?). I wouldn't discount any threat from North Korea, Iran, China, or even Pakistan or India. The threat is real, and our defenses must be able to thwart any such threat.

Rest assured, good things are happening in support of this effort, despite Tom Postal and his flock of nay-sayers.

I had to laugh at the Aegis one; It reminded me of a Bond film.

I agree, the SDI is needed. Or at least a form of it.
