MENTOR/APRENTICE
Good day to all,
By the advise of Gypsy,I am posting my situation. I am just under 4 1/2 months before I ship.I have been training myself with out any guidance except the books and material I have read.I am self motivated and despite what happens will still continue on with my training.Though I feel as if I am training"blind."I know only what to expect by rumor.
I am looking for a mentor or to be an apprentice to an active member. With in 150miles(maybe more)I am able to travel.Active/Retired it dosn't matter.I am not here to waste your time nor your breath of air.I will do as I am told and have no questions asked of why you have told me to do so. I.E. -I am wiling to do 2 plus consecutive days of training with out sleep or going home.
You can PT me to muscle failure, smoke me every time I take a breath, and quiz me day in and day out.I AM NOT GOING TO QUIT! I have left my job, and cleared all non family related events.I have nothing to lose and every thing to gain.
If you are truly interested in helping me or finding me some one who can in the least bit,let me know I will give my number to you.
As I said before,I am not here to waste your time nor breath.I am here to learn and train for the unexpected.
Thank you all.

Um, I'd just like to make clear I don't dispense advice to anyone as it relates to actual training or anything else for that matter, as I'm not qualified...
Tex asked me to pass along a PM to someone and said if I can answer any of his questions to do so.
I suggested if he was looking for a training partner in his AO to post a note...
Tex I have your answer and will PM back to you.

Hey Tex:

Another Mentorship/Apprentice Question
I just DEPed in yesterday, 27 June, and I am also wondering if there is someone who would be willing to help train me near the Charleston, SC area. I have no problem driving places and have no problem being told what to do. My ship out date is fast approaching, 5 Sept, so any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Ben

I'm doing great right now. I am being challenged physically and mentaly. The blisters on the bottom of my feet and the scars on my face, arms, and hand can tell stories. I have been broken but now I am being rebuilt. I will not give in.

Yes, though not as often any more. My run has increase,my sit ups, pushups, pull ups,dips,etc... It may be a painfull process but I am going to ride the pain like my firebird, fast and with out a care. I can't seem to load any photos on here of my wound so if you would like to see them PM me with your E-Mail address.

Tex-
1. make sure you are keeping enough of the right fluids in your system - puking during PT occasionally after a hard night is ok - but if you puke all the time, there is an issue, maybe just a fluid imbalance
2. Make sure to take one day off a week at a minimum during your train up - recovery time is essential to keep from getting injured - train hard but train smart - hurt yourself now, and you won't be able to fulfil your 18X contract, say hello to your AIT MOS immediately.
3. If you are still puking nearly every time you do PT after 2 weeks - go to the doctor - there might be something wrong - as simple as acid refux, or as bad as a hiatal hernia or other esophogeal issue.
4. As stated above BIFI is great for the 82nd and 75th - SF needs brains as well as excellent physical conditioning.

Taking the given, that everyone is different. I never puked throughout the training or when on a Team. Being on a Team can be tons worse physically and mentally. Back when I was in, we were told from day one. "You think it was tough getting here? It will be much tougher to remain here. You earned your way into SF. That was the easy part! "
Whats with alllllll this vomiting stuff?????? A flu thang or tooooooooo much to drink the night before. Which never mattered anyway.
