Maybe if he had embeded the crystal in calibrated ballistic gelatin his results would have been independantly verifiable. Or since his entire exercise was to repeat previously conducted experiments - that's what undergrads usually do - he could have reduced the S/N ratio and gotten meaningful data. Obviously the data points that lie outside his postulated curve represent "noise" and should be ignored. After all - he did everything "by the book". I'd better quit now before I get burned at the stake. Peregrino
