Sign Illinois Petition for "Let Them Rest in Peace" Act

For Illinoisians only. Please pass this on to anyone you know in Illinois. The titled bill would prevent lunatics from picketing military funerals. If there are any registered Democrats out there, a note to the Senate Democrats to DROP the competing bill 1144 would go a long way (see the email at the bottom). Thanks.

Lt Gov Quinn asks that all Illinoisians that support the "Let Them Rest in Peace" Act to sign this online petition:

There is some urgency to this, see below:

I’ll get to work on that right away. In the meantime, I may have to give you a call on the “Let Them Rest in Peace” act. The Senate Democrats are playing games with it. They are pushing a new version – Senate Bill 1144 -- that would allow union pickets during funerals – which defeats the whole purpose of the Act and makes it unconstitutional on its face. Senate Republicans and the Lt. Governor are both opposed to the new version. We are pushing – and need some help – the original bill – House Bill 4532 which passed the House 114-2 and could go to the governor’s desk if the Senate Democrats allow a vote.

Right now – the Senate Democrats are choosing patronage over patriotism!

Sorry!

Sorry, I should have put "Illinois Only" in the thread title and now I can't edit it.

I will be sure to notify my friends from who are from there. It is tragic that this is happening. If I saw them at a funeral for one of my comrads.......... Temporary insanity. Fight on!
