Free tax return preparation assistance for members of the U.S. Armed Forces serving in combat zones or qualified hazardous duty areas.

The Illinois CPA Society has partnered with the Internal Revenue Service to offer the Military Service Tax Assistance Project. Illinois CPAs are providing free personal income tax return filing assistance to members of the U.S. Armed Forces who returned or are still serving on active duty in a combat zone or qualified hazardous duty area. Those serving from 2003-present qualify for this service.
