Navy Names 5 New Concealed-Carry Submarines

Quote:
Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus announced today the next five Virginia-class attack submarines will be named the USS Illinois, the USS Washington, the USS Colorado, the USS Indiana, and the USS South Dakota.
The Washington will not permit the other submarines to operate in its AO, but when on leave they have really cool t-shirts to handout.

The Colorado will not permit the Washington in its AO but freely interacts with the others in its class. CINCNAV has directed the respective CO's jointly attend an executive-level conflict resolution course.

The Indiana will neither confirm nor deny whether it's carrying a full complement of armaments for the entire lifetime of its reactor. All properly armed subs in its class are welcomed into the Indiana's proposed AO.

The South Dakota will operate similarly to the Indiana and the two will likely pursue many joint exercises in designated training areas. The location of those areas is not regarded as relevant to anyone but the respective crews of those boats.

The USS Illinois will be an unarmed training craft which will operate strictly within the Lake Michigan waters which belong to the State of Illinois and be available to fulfill promises to recruits at Great Lakes. It will not operate submerged - ever.
