Hillar the Hero
Bill Hillar, Meaghan Murphy and Mark Watros may have lived very different lives, but they have one thing in common — they are all heroes.
All three were recognized Monday night as "Hometown Heroes" after being nominated by members of the Class of 2014 for "making a positive difference by touching lives and strengthening their home communities."
Hillar, nominated by Savannah Chaisson, has worked to fight against human trafficking, specifically the female sex slave trade, after his 16 year-old daughter was abducted while traveling abroad. The film "Taken," starring Liam Nesson, was loosely based on Hillar's story.

I couldn't find anything for her in the SSDI death records database. It's pretty up-to-date and thorough in my experience.
Zabasearch and Intelius return nothing for "Sale Hillar". Plenty of "Sally Hillar", but nobody with relative records tied to a "Bill Hillar" or "William Hillar".
(I've redacted the previous contents out of respect for his daughter). I've located his real daughter and have most of her details, I have PM'd TS with her info.

A quick search only shows five links, all referencing the award. Nothing with a story about her. In the weeks that we have been scouring the internet, why is this the first time the name "Sale Hillar" has ever popped up? After reading the story, a search of "Sale Hillar Cambodia" reveals the same links, just blogs which repeat the same information.

William G. Hillar's liver is dark, dark red. In 1988, while traveling with schoolmates in Southeast Asia, kidnappers pulled Hillar’s 17-year old daughter off a train and forced her into prostitution. Despite an exhaustive global search, the former Colonel of the U.S. Army Special Forces was unable to save his daughter, and the movie "Taken," starring Liam Neeson is loosely based on his story.
I am really interested to know which country this is supposed to have taken place in. Thailand? Indonesia? Malaysia? Myanmar? Vietnam?
That doesn't happen out here (kidnapping tourist) and if it did, it would probably have made the front page years ago.

Lesson to be learned
If anyone is considering "posing" wait until TS is in heaven. And then pray that heaven does not allow him access to the internet.
After reading through the entire thread I went out on the internet and discovered for myself the masterful job TS and the rest of you have done to this fraud! Congratulations on a job well done!

Lies, damn lies, and Hillar
Ok, if you ever had just a little bit of doubt that Hillar's daughter may have, in some atomically small way, been trafficked for real here is 100% proof that it's all BS. I took his human trafficking class back in October and he told us that his daughter was hacked to death in Mexico with machetes after being sexually tortured. Here is a link to a story where Hillar says that his daughter was found dead in a warehouse in Borneo:
Romine said the story of retired US Army Special Forces Colonel William Hillar is actually similar to the one in the movie.
Hillar's daughter was kidnapped along with two friends while taking a train out of Bangkok. Within 24 hours, the girls were already in Kuala Lumpur and forced to become sex slaves.
After finding out about the kidnapping, Hillar took his friends and tracked his daughter for the next 6 months. The search took him to Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Cambodia, Hong Kong, Macau, the Philippines and finally in a warehouse in Borneo with 32 girls inside.
"He goes in and finds one of the friends and asks: 'Where's my baby?' She said: 'Oh sir, a week ago she escaped and found a policeman and he brought her back here. She was tortured to death as an example to the other girls.' He got there a week late," Romine recounted.

The Noose Tightens
Just got off the the phone with compassion 2 one.org (a human trafficking group that Hillar lied to) and they told me that they are well aware of his fraud that they have started alerting other organizations as well. Looks like our efforts are paying off in big ways.
