Really cool video. Shows an assault by 30 hornets on 30,000 bees. It's a complete slaughter, reminds me a lot of Starship Troopers.

Gotta love mother nature. These guys have discovered a tactic to deal with the scout thus preventing the attack.

I met one of those Asian giant hornets for the first time over here. Was at the range and one flew out of a rafter above us. Quite possibly the scariest thing I have EVER encountered in nature. You can not appreciate how big those things really are until you see one in person. It’s like a hummingbird, except it has a stinger like a nail. Those with me thought it was some freak of nature until we looked them up. I never knew until that point that hornets could get that big! I really never hope to get stung by one!

Just goes to show life - and death - is not fair in nature.

But if you can take out the scout you stand a chance.

Insects would be a lot bigger if there was more breathable oxygen in the atmosphere. In the past, when the atmosphere was much more oxygenated, there were giant centipedes (like three feet long), enormous mosquitos ect ...

You've been to Minnesota I see.

The mosquitos up there are gynormous. I saw one fly off with a 3 y/o child one time. ;)
