liberty at risk
lying and cheating and stealing
obamas third term

just five syllables
quintessential deceitfulness

i solemnly swear
All men and women created by…
…you know, the thing

the hypocrisy
the constant negative press

quiet peacefulness

A great many wordsmiths did write before,
About the great problems they faced that day;
Today they're on TV and quite a bore,
Talking about their political hay.

They smoke, they toke, and say call me Maurice,
They wear pussy hats and show us their tits;
They rant, they rave, and defund their police,
Then are surprised when strong men call it quits.

Media whores with their appetites whet,
Revealed just to be Larry, Moe, and Shem;
Keyboards now still, Twitter censors now fret,
No more Trump Derangement Syndrome for them.

The table is set, the cards are on it,
Haiku now seen, I'll raise you one sonnet.
