Living close to the University of Phoenix stadium is amusing. 2nd Super Bowl and you would not believe the "Security".
So far we have:
NEST (Nuclear emergency search team)
FBI
DHS
The X Men
FEMA
DHS
Professional "Contract Security" (blackwater?)
The Justice League
DOJ
Mobile Water Boarding Units (disguised as ESPN trucks) have also been deployed at the East and West Parking lots.
DHS
25% of all Arizona state law enforcement assets
Arizona National Guard
Jack Bauer
Blackhawks & F-16's
Luke AFB is running air defense missions (no really)
DHS
Arizona Fusions centers are running at 125%
(Captain America declined to attend due to his dislike of either team )
Federal radiation detection teams
HAZMAT teams
NSA has set up 200 fake cell towers around the stadium and is capturing all electronic transmissions.
Every politician (and billionaire) will be escorted by a member of SEAL Team Six or Delta Force.
63 federal DHS "snipers" were deployed last week and are currently in Super Bowl "hides". The media was asked not to
film these hides.
Running short on federal SWAT teams, the Dept. of Education was asked to deploy their SWAT team to guard the Gov of Arizona at the game.
A team of federal judges are on stand-by to issue warrants on a first come first call basis. Their HQ is a closely guarded secret but we have intel that they will be stationed at a local Irish Pub close to the stadium.
The NFL has placed a "kill on sight" order for anyone selling counterfeit NFL jerseys. US Customs agents will be executing the kill orders, taking their orders directly from NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell to fulfill the NFL's anti- counterfeit mission.
The Secret Service (in cooperation with the NSA) plans to publish all out of town private Escort services phone numbers for game weekend.
The Arizona National Guard in conjunction with the CIA will deploy 20 armed drones will be conducting an air-cap within a 20mile radius of the Univ of Phoenix Stadium.
More to follow.......

The real joke is how much of the taxpayers money we're spending for this friggin ballgame......
Trust me, it's the only time you actually "see" a real federal/state and local police presence on the west side of Phoenix...... Couple of days prior there will be twenty state troopers within a two mile radius of the stadium on constant patrol. Game day, maybe a hundred of them.
The teams playing will have a vehicle escort that will put any world leaders convoy to shame.
Everyone entering the game will have gone through security checkpoints that would make the Israelis cringe.
Just makes me wonder how much we're spending on "security".......
Anything for a false sense of security.......

Rumor is that it is costing Glendale more than they will make, since Phoenix and Scottsdale are where most of the attendees will be staying.

I used to bend elbows with the gent who headed up Super Bowl security back in the day, he headed it up for about a decade IIRC.
He commented a few times on how the SB security works now.
"I used to think what we did was a big deal, now I look at what they do....we where doing weekend maneuvers, they're staging D-day!"

That's been the trend for years. Before the Super bowl, Indianapolis crowed about how much money was going to come in and the city and state would make a ton....after.....*crickets*.
LINK (http://www.wthr.com/story/18389145/indianapolis-loses-more-money-than-expected-hosting-super-bowl)
INDIANAPOLIS -
The final numbers are in. It turns out the city's Capital Improvement Board lost more money than it expected hosting Super Bowl XLVI.
CIB president Ann Lathrop calls it a small financial loss that was well worth the investment.
Monday afternoon, Lathrop said the CIB took in nearly $2.9 million more in hospitality taxes the first two months of this year over last year, which was just four percent below projections.
"We were off a little bit in hotel motel taxes, but were over in food and beverage and auto rental," Lathrop said.
With expenses slightly more than projected, the CIB wound up losing roughly a million dollars hosting the Super Bowl - or $250,000 more than expected.
The single biggest expense it incurred was paying for the added police and fire protection.

Scottsdale is where most of the rich and shameless live, it's also where all the restaurants and entertainment is at.....
Glendale? Glendale is for the snowbirds and old folks.....
Glendale does not even head up security and the U of Phoenix is in their town..... I've been here about a dozen years and have probably eaten in a Glendale restaurant maybe twice (and I think the Reaper was with me both times)....... Glendale is dead.
The only reason the stadium was built there was Glendale had enough land to build it on....... that area was all "farm fields" before the stadium. And you cannot build east of Phoenix unless you ask the Indians, so you have to go west....

Customs and Border Protection to enforce No Fly Zone

GLENDALE, Ariz. - Protecting the Super Bowl is a big task, so how do authorities protect the big game from the air?
It's a menacing machine, a UH-60 Blackhawk Helicopter operated by the U.S. Customs and Border Protection. We climbed aboard to find out what the crew is looking for and how they will protect fans at the Super Bowl.
"We're able to provide a good security blanket of what is going on around the area," said an agent.
CBP has dedicated 100 people, 7 helicopters, and 3 fixed wing aircraft to the Super Bowl. They will work with local and federal authorities enforcing a 30 mile "No Fly Zone" around the University of Phoenix Stadium.
Aside from protecting the skies, the crew of four can be pressed into action in the case of emergency.
"We're here to enforce the flight restrictions, but we also have a lot of different agencies out here, federal and state so if any kind of emergency were to happen we would be able to assist and respond," said an agent.
If an aircraft gets within 10 miles of the Super Bowl, a team of F-16's over the valley are prepared to shoot down any aircraft they deem as an imminent threat.

Oh and click the link to see the picture of the stadium. See "all" that water? It's a canal that about 15 ft wide, looks like a lake doesn't it? Go to Google Maps and university of Phoenix stadium. You'll see there's only that canal. Talk about a trick picture. (I live very close to the stadium, drive past it all the time, only thing close by is farmland.)
DHS Reveals Super Bowl Surveillance Techniques -- Sort Of
By Aliya Sternstein

The Secret Service will be searching social media messages this Sunday to discern between real and bogus threats during the Super Bowl, according to Department of Homeland Security officials. But agents will not be using sarcasm-detecting software they have expressed an interest in buying, the agency said.
Social media-tracking technology is just one piece of surveillance gear the government will deploy for the face-off between the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks at the University of Phoenix Stadium.
In addition, DHS and the Pentagon will be "providing airspace security around the venue," DHS officials said Wednesday afternoon. "No drones," DHS spokesman S.Y. Lee told Nextgov.
DHS cybersecurity professionals paid to try hacking into systems have been probing Internet-connected devices at the stadium to check for weaknesses that miscreants could breach. Department officials would not comment on any specific systems being tested, though we hope they're securing instant replay feeds and any equipment that could be used to, say, deflate a football.
Also, the Secret Service will conduct "open-source social media monitoring for situational awareness," officials said. As Nextgov first reported last summer, the agency has been shopping for software that can identify sarcasm, among other things.
"We aren't doing that," Secret Service spokesman Edwin Donavan said Wednesday. The agency, however, will continuously screen activities on social media sites, including Al Jazeera Blog and Facebook, using search terms, such as "black out," in accordance with DHS privacy guidelines, Lee confirmed.
Airspace restrictions will be enforced by F-16 Fighting Falcons and helicopters, according to Defense Department and DHS officials.

PHOENIX - Millions will be watching, millions will be spent on security and hundreds of law enforcement officers will be on high alert aiming to deter and prevent any problems for the Super Bowl.
The game is deemed a national security priority with experts well aware it could be a big potential target for lone wolves trying to make a political statement or terrorist groups against the U.S.
“The Super Bowl is the largest one-day sporting event in the World,” said Glendale Assistant Police Chief Matt Lively. He is charge of Super Bowl security—all of it.

Two foreign nationals breech the superbowl "security". 40 agencies and hundreds of millions of taxpayers dollars spent on a false sense of security.
I know, let's take away more freedoms for even more security next year.
DHS, eroding our freedoms and leading the way in a false sense of security.

That’s some play! How two NFL fans from Ireland bluffed their way past Super Bowl security… into $25,000 seats

Richard Whelan from Dublin and Paul McEvoy from Cahir sneak in to game
Pair tagged along behind first aiders at University of Phoenix Stadium
Used them to duck right past security at the front door in Glendale, Arizona
Ended up in fourth row seats to see their beloved Seattle Seahawks
Even enjoyed play-by-play analysis from ex-NFL star Lawyer Malloy
New England Patriots won but the 'impossible came true' for the boys
You would think it would take a bit more than Irish charm to talk your way past security and into $25,000 seats at the Super Bowl.
But that's exactly what a pair of Seattle Seahawks fans from the Emerald Isle managed to do for the main event at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, on Sunday.
Richard Whelan from Dublin and Paul McEvoy from Cahir had made the 5,000 mile trip hoping their team would take the title against the New England Patriots - and they'd be there to see it.
