I watched a rather haunting made-for-TV movie, from 1970, that I had not seen (or heard of) before: Sole Survivor. It stars 3 leading TV actors of the ‘60s, Vince Edwards, Richard Basehart, and William Shatner and is loosely based on the discovery of a long lost B-24, the Lady be Good in the Libyan desert in 1958 and the recovery of all but one of the crew members in 1960.

The Twilight Zone episode King Nine will not Return was also loosely based on the LBG incident: http://www.hulu.com/watch/440835 It's on Hulu so it will have a couple of commercials.

I actually found Sole Survivor after watching a youtube video about a visit to the crash site of a C-53 and CG-4 glider near Lake Castaic north of Los Angeles. How did we ever live without the internet? ;)
