Crazy Sh*t You Never Thought Possible-Until Now!!

I about lost it when I saw the flyer at the rec center over at Metro State Denver. It was promoting the Denver Quidditch team. Yes, the same game from the Harry Potter movies where kids zip around on brooms with the help of CGI. My first response was a loud "YGBSM!!!"

Here, this group of throat-punch candidates are actually running around pretending they are in a Harry Potter story. What's even more baffling is that they have an actual league with teams in cities across the country. WTF?!!! I'm guessing these guys were never issued man cards.

The video makes manhood weep.

What did you expect, it's Metro.
96.47% of the students there are ones that can't get into CU because they don't have enough money.

Quidditch? Isn't that what Obama was playing during the Benghazi attack?

My wife has informed me that this was pretty big at her alma mater...I didn't know that recess was a college class.

Why are college students reading children's books?

or

They're illiterate and only watched the movie?

Things like this make me doubt any hope for my generation.

Much of what I was drinking strangely came out my nose when I read this.
I still have enough Lacrosse equipment, I think we could give these guys a run for their money, probably even be fun

My son lost a friend today or yesterday...it was in Australia. I wasn't sure where, or if, to post it. This may actually be the proper thread.

Not all young guys are morons that run around with broomsticks between under their legs. :(

I keep thinking this is just a spoof to see who will bite. Anything else, well I am just embarrassed for these young "men." I also have a sinking feeling that this video is going to stick in my brain like gum on a sidewalk on a hot day. Why did I click on the link?! :(

Not to change the subject (even though it needs changing, please... before I advocate a return of the draft!), but your comment made me remember this gem from Stan Freberg's inventive mind:

My daughter plays on a team for her High School. I think they have something like 20 teams now, just in our one school. The kids love it, and take it more seriously than I would like at times.

Around here they don't use broom sticks, they use what we call "noodles". The floaty things kids take in the pool.

It is a good workout, not that I have ever played or anything :o

More likely these guys grew up with Harry Potter. The books have been around that long.

Still.

That's no excuse for acting like weenies. :D

The best our young men of today can do for sport is run around with broomsticks where their balls ought to be and throw foam balls?
What ever happened to football, rugby or baseball.

Too dangerous. The current school boards want a "kinder, gentler" type of school child.

Elementary school outlaws playing tag, 'running in packs' 10/5/2013

New Groningen kindergarten teachers in Grand Rapids, Michigan caused some consternation amongst parents recently with a letter they sent home that banned the game of tag and other chase-oriented games. The letter described the problem of children, "running in packs, pushing, knocking other children over, and making the game dangerous," which as we recall, was half the fun of the game. "We want our children to treat each other with respect, kindness, and with safety in mind," said Ginger Smith, community relationship manager for Zeeland Public Schools, on Friday, in an attempt to clarify the situation. Apparently, neither the school nor the district have received any direct complaints from parents regarding the policy, but at least one did contact the media.

Welcome to the "pussification" of America. :munchin

I was contracted to set-up the Las Vegas School Fencing League.

The Las Vegas School District, the 4th largest school district in the country got right into it. Fencing has more unfilled scholarships by dollar every year then any other sport in the US.

We started things up, where in 17 schools, and then the new district Lawyer got wind of it. Bam....shut down...too dangerous...

I mean...all we where doing was teaching inner city black kids how to use sharp objects. :D

Hate to be the one to say it but at least those kids are running around getting some exercise and not sitting on the couch playing video games.

Jiu jitsu 4 times a week.
