Present from my sister.
I have noticed there are a lot of fine spirit enthusiasts on PS.com. It's an honor to share this with you
I had the pleasure of tasting this at The Brandy Library in NYC this summer. It's officially the world's peatiest scotch and can be ordered here (http://www.bruichladdich.com/whisky-shop/peated-whisky/octomore)

My most memorable wee dram was earlier this year. I managed to find the 1977 Ardbeg (that's from Islay for you bourbon drinkers). Pure peat smoke in a glass. Worth every penny for that double. Neat, of course.

I had a wee sip of an Ardbeg (not sure how old -- wasn't paying attention; I was in love) last night at RANDALL'S. It was pretty spectacular.
For those in the St Louis area they have quite a nice selection of all the important stuff

Nice. Ardbeg is my favorite so far, though not a huge fan of the 10 yr old. It has to grow up a bit.

neat of course, never add ice, there's already enough water in it, just as the makers intended!!

I haven't opened the bottle, saving for a special occasion, but the guys at the awesome liquor store I found in Edinborough (which had Pappy's in stock BTW) say it's some of the best they've ever tasted.

I don't remember what I paid, but the prices at this store were awesome. Like I got an Old Pulteney bottle for like $40 or $50 that goes for like $100 in LA.

But doc.... I already got him a bottle of The Glenlivet / J.G. Smith Nadurra Cask Strength 16 y/o... to warm him up. It is rather tasty. My present to myself was a lowly bottle of Blanton's...
oh, btw, we only lost 1/2 a hockey season.
The Troll sends.
Recently picked up a bottle of Glenmorangie Artein 15yr (http://www.glenmorangie.com/our-whiskies/artein/), it is quite good, along with a Balvenie Carribean Cask 14yr.
On a side note, for the cigar smokers looking for a good pairing aside from Oban or Tomintoul, check out Glenmorangie's Nectar D'Or (http://www.glenmorangie.com/our-whiskies/nectar-dor/), it is light enough that it won't overpower the cigar, IMO.

Caol Ila, now that's one I haven't had in a while, gotta make note of it for my next trip to the liquor store.
I'd give my 5th born for some of the 21.....I love me some Macallan. No Im not old but I enjoy the finer things in life.
