GRAFENAU, Germany — It was an unusual rendezvous: a small group of Americans, a couple of German homicide detectives and a small bag of bone fragments.
Deep in the woods, about 20 miles southwest of Stuttgart, Kolby Lanham, a Spangdahlem airman, handed over the bone fragments he’d found.
