Got this from another forum. But it needs to be shared. It amazes how many people feel they need have their name out there. Anyone know these tools. Watch for the guy that flags the entire line while using his weapon as a club.

WTF? A wet dream for Airsofters. "Rifle Fighting". Yeah. Right. Sexy.

Complex and fine motor skill movements for fighting in an open-ended dynamic event with poor muzzle discipline?

Hey, stay close to the target performing a bee mating dance so they can grab your rifle. Huh? For a split second thought the first aid was real because the instructor had executed a ND into someone's thigh.

They should have saved their money and trained with Paul Howe, et al.

Or in their case, double-up on the Viagra. P.T. Barnum was right. Good Lord! :munchin

On their website it says " By Operators for Operators". I rest my case.:p

WTH was that overhand grip crap? Or where the dude basically GAVE his rifle to the target (opponent)? Everytime they reloaded, they had to look to see where their mags were. I thought the guy in the light colored shirt was going to hit himself in the face with his handgun everytime he drew it back into him. These guys make the ballerinas from American Defense Enterprises look truly professional.

It's got to where I get surprised any time I don't see shit like this.

That's why the Brits invented the word "Wanker".

I don't understand the desire to spend money on this kind of "training" or on thigh rigs/tactical vests/ cool guy hats etc if you are non military or non leo. for the price of their gear (that they will never use for its intended purpose) I can buy another pistol/rifle/or ammo, or training by vetted instructors in skills relevent to a civillian's needs.
As for sending them to someone like Paul Howe, I have too much respect for him to send people like this to csat..
Back when I was a martial arts instructor, every other month there would be some idiot in black belt magazine demonstrating his gun "kata". It looks like the goofballs and posers have migrated from black belt magazine to the us cavalry catalog.

I think that's right out of Costa Magpul Dynamics tape. Inspecting chamber to see bolt lock vs. double feed vs. bla bla. I like VTAc approach better http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-TqLnBd1udM
...still, no worries of these malfunction drill when you're running an AK :D
Worst ever malfunction was during a HP match. During seated rapid fore, while holding the ring, that thick shooting glove somehow covered the ejection port in such angle that a spent case was flung back in and lodged around the gas tube. The match director had to pry it out with a pocket knife. Learned my lesson well and since then has always watched for port obstruction at various shooting positions

IIRC, the overhand grip is popularized after the 3 gun crowd http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=29GGLt1ZT2U

How 'bout anybody who reads or has ever suscribed to read "Black Belt" magazine was a goofball?

I love you "Martial Arts Instructors".

I don't pretend to be something I wasn't. I taught self defense to people in as pragmatic a method as I was able. It was something I enjoyed, and enjoyed teaching to others. I taught men women and children to be more confident and to not present themselves as victims. How was that career some how not worth while?

Who said it was "some how not worth while"?

I got beat up by a harsh chick named Myong Mayes for years.

My only point with my original post was that I saw the same type of instruction in the martial arts world. People pretending to be teaching mystical skills and presenting themselves as superhuman masters. Much like the growth in shooting schools run by people pretending to be ex-commandos.
I agree that black belt magazine was ridiculous and no, I did not subscribe, but I've read plenty of them.
I taught kempo, not TKD. It was a rewarding job that I held full time for 17 years before I moved on.
PS.com is your house. I offer no disrespect but I'm no bullshit artist.
My apologies for taking the thread off topic.

There's absolutely no need in my mind for you to apologize, and I don't feel that you have taken the thread off topic to any extent whatsoever, Sensei.

So, 2 "operators" standing in the doorway preoccupied with handling a perp with weapons down/blocked while an unknown is roaming around inside is what technique? Direct-to-threat or points of domination? :D

Here that grip is not being used in the same way. Using your hand that way as a standoff/brace for a vertical barricade or window shooting position is one thing; doing it the way shown in the suspect videos is another. They may have got it from here, but I think they misinterpreted the purpose.

Regarding those silly videos, I was reading one of Paul Howe's articles on his website and the simplicity and clarity of his approach says it all.

" Remember, if you charge the person, their body may not be affected by your first few rounds, all the while you are moving directly to a muzzle."
( emphasis added )

I guess those ninja monkeys haven't figured that out yet. :munchin

It looks like they have misinterpreted things they have seen elsewhere. Also looks like they are ,unsuccessfully, trying to mix law enforcement and CQB. I read some of the comments on youtube and, the guys who made the video were defended as being instructors for ODAs. The person doing the defending said he didn't like the overhand grip but, some people love it.

I am not quite sure what you mean by that. Law enforcement tactical teams use many CQB techniques for high risk search warrants, hostage rescues, felony/fugitive warrant services and such. The main difference between LE and Mil CQB is the ROE, not the techniques themselves.

Video in post #'s 6 and 7 is Signal 88 Security. They're right here out of Omaha, NE.

I took the training for my CCW from them. They seemed to have their act together then, but again, that was just a CCW course. They did gave us a lot of value added, and I walked away with some solid stuff.

The guy with the Crinklaw name tape is Devin. Last I heard he was training OPD's SWAT guys. He was one of the instructors for that CCW course.

One of the other instructors for the course is a QP. A 10th Grouper I think. Interested QPs may PM me for his name, I'll not post it here.

I don't really know either of those guys, but I have a skilled friend who knows a least one of them (and possibly both) and speaks highly of him/them.

I am not sure whether they're still with Signal 88.

I'll leave the discussion of their technique to those more qualified than I.

As if any doctor in the United States (or overseas) would transfuse a unit of blood based solely on a cloth patch somebody has sewn onto a shirt.
