Put this here because this guy is so phony I am still ROTFLMAO
18833
18834
I just cannot believe that any guy would be stupid enough to wear that in public.
How long has the garrison/overseas cap been phased out? This pic was taken in 2009? This guy then must either have never actually served or has been out so long that he is not aware that the overseas cap is long gone.
Jaysus.

I wonder if he even knows what that little ribbon is on the bottom left is - since he seems to be missing his SWASR for the same period.
Seems right proud of his uniform. Six service stripes and CSM? Don't think so.
Long term SF could pin on E-9 in under 19 years - and he don't look like my peer.
Would love to get a look at the other shoulder.

Other than he's a phony - his uniform hat depends on when he retired - if he is retired.
I do believe under AR 670-1 a soldier who retired is authorized to wear the last uniform he was wearing at the time of retirement. AR 670-1 has a whole chapter on retired folks - even the patch they should wear on their left shoulder. I have never seen that patch on anyone's uniform and I ain't gonna' correct 'um because mine don't either.
But the whole concept of the SF & Ranger Tabs with a non-SF Ranger patch, the overseas cap, eeee gads makes my skin crawl.
Oh, buy the way - I had to buy one of those hats when I went to the El Paso School for Boys in 1990.
I do like his "triple canopy" resting above his 3rd ID patch...
I dunno, he looks legit to me.
I think he might be the Navy Seal that killed Bin laden on behalf of Walt Disney.
I'd call him a tool-bag, but that would be unfair to innocent bags of tools.

Ah. Was afraid to ask. :)
Chances are, if something gets edited out on this board, it needed to be. :D

Ok....Im the new guy here and im just a recently retired SFC Artillery by trade. Whats the info for the guy in the pic? Did he fail basic and has no idea on the order of precidence for ribbons, or even how to mount them.
Any way we can bring this PX Soldier to light in his community?

....(Post your introduction quick before they see you! Dive, Dive!).......
Too late - he's on the Mod's Radar Screen. We'll see if he takes corrective action or continues down the same path.

IIRC I think they still wear them with the dress blues/whites
I don't know if I just can't see it clearly but is that a Mountain tab above the 3ID patch? I don't recall there ever being a Mountain unit in 3ID history.
EDIT: He is also wearing the wrong French Fourragère.

That Fourragere our hero is wearing is an ROTC doohickey for something or other.
It's not ROTC, he is wearing the French Fourragère awarded to members who actually fought in WW1 in France. He should be wearing just the part under his arm, not over his shoulder. Actually he shouldn't be wearing it at all. Though he looks fairly old, I doubt the "CSM" is over 118 year of age as it was awarded for actions in 1918......and now, a mad dash for cover.
those cords are looking way dark. almost a royal blue.
might be maternity branch cords?

They just haven't been sun bleached by standing in payday formations for hours....

I believe that is an airborne tab...no matter, he lives in Scotland and I believe they are after him for pretending to be some kind of clan chief...goes with the charactor..pretending...

No cover needed. I've only seen that set up on Cadets...I wore one when assigned to the 509th in Italy and it did not (as you stated) have the over the arm deal. Good info.
