This should be in the Gourmet Guerrilla Comedy Zone, but there ain’t one…yet.
Saturday night we went to dinner at a long time friend’s house. She is Scottish and used to work for Overseas National Airlines (ONA). FOG’s should remember. ;) We’ve been going there for dinner every few months for several years. (Did I mention that she’s Scottish?) I dread these dinners more than root canals. I’M SERIOUS!
She served pork pieces boiled in sauerkraut with mashed potatoes. She forgot the gravy.
I almost always add a bit more salt, at the table, than we cook with. I like more and my wife likes less. We have a bowl of kosher salt in the kitchen that we use when cooking. We also have one on the table because the shaker clogged up.
At Saturday’s dinner I kept adding salt from their salt bowl to my meal. It didn’t help, so I kept adding more. Nothing. Well, not exactly nothing. It was getting sweeter. It was a sugar bowl. One of the better meals I’ve had there. ;)
