Disturbing New Ice Cream Flavor

By Marti Lotman

Rocky Road, Chocolate Chip, Cookie Dough … all great contenders for favorite ice cream flavor. But it looks like these classic American favorites may have some stiff competition from across the Pond — "Baby Gaga" breast milk ice cream.

Leave it to the Brits to come up with this outlandish new ice cream flavor being sold by “Icecreamists” in Covent Garden, London for 14 euros a serving.

The new break milk flavor, called “Baby Gaga” is made with real breast milk. So real that the company is in search of more women to provide the key ingredient, offering a 15 euro payout per ten ounces of extracted milk.

Wow.

That's creepy and funny at the same time. But I can't imagine actually eating something that has a liquid from a human being in it. *Shudder*

I imagine that question was first asked after someone tried bovine milk for the first time. ;)

True. I stand corrected.

But, with how fast we tend to progress presently - the thought of milk pipelines, milking parlors, recessed parlors - in this context - better to not go there !;)

Big Teddy,

Hehehehe, You are NOT a Dirty Old Man....You are cute!:) ( I know, I know!)

BUT, here is some scientific data about the benefits of the breast milk. In fact it is nutritous, vitamin rich, and very good for those that want to grow and be strong!:D

http://www.007b.com/wonders_breastmilk.php

Protein in breast milk is mostly whey, which is easier to digest than casein (main protein in cow's milk). Protein of breast milk has high amounts of amino acid taurine, which has an important role in the development of the brain and the eyes.

Fats in breast milk are practically self-digesting, since breast milk also contains the enzyme lipase, which breaks down the fat.Fat is the main source of calories for babies - and babies need LOTS of calories to grow well!
Also, fat in human milk has large amounts of certain omega-3 fatty acids, which are important for brain development (provided the mother eats those good omega-3 fats herself).

Vitamins and minerals in human milk are bioavailable-meaning they get absorbed well. Breast milk contains substances that enhance the absorption of minerals and vitamins.

DNA. Breast milk has been shown to affect an infant's gene expression. Breast milk and formula have different effects on at least 146 genes. Most of the genes enhanced by breast milk promote quick development of the intestine and immune system. For example, some of the genes positively affected by breast milk protect against "leaky gut".

Immune boosters. In each feeding mother delivers MILLIONS of LIVING white blood cells to her baby to help baby fight off all kinds of diseases. You will not find these living cells in formula! Also, when mother is exposed to a germ, she makes antibodies to that germ and gives these antibodies to her infant via her milk. Breast milk also contains factors that prevent microbes from attaching, and a long list of other antiviral, antibacterial and antiparasitic factors.

Personally, I think it's disgusting.

On a side note, when my cousin was nursing she'd chase myself and her sister around and would squirt us. ~shudders~

Unfortunately, the processing required to render it into ice cream detracts from the nutritional value. It's one of those products best consumed from the original container. Applications of garnishes, e.g. the aforementioned whipped cream and chocolate are solely for entertainment purposes; they contribute nothing to the nutritional value but have been known to improve the tractability of the provider. Application of the cherry on top has been known to reduce the subject to helpless fits of giggling which tends to delay consumption. MOO
