View Full Version : SMS Suicide Bomber Fail
SMS suicide bomber (http://www.wired.com/threatlevel/2011/01/sms-suicide-bomber/)
An unexpected and unwanted text message from a wireless company prematurely exploded a would-be suicide bomber’s vest bomb in Russia New Year’s Eve, inadvertently thwarting a planned attack on revelers in Moscow, according to The Daily Telegraph.
The message reportedly wished her a Happy New Years

god has a sense of humor.
S-B new rule. No matter how stylish, don't wear the vest in the safe house.

Nothing happens "inadvertently" in Russia. Special Services perhaps?
...according to Russian security sources... ;)
And so it goes...
Richard :munchin
Would that inadvertent text be considered...S-Bam ? ;)
Some friends told me about modified C130s that would fly over cities in OIF calling all the cell phones in coverage. Sometimes with explosive results. Brilliant IMO.

The Russians don't use the terms "politically correct" or "plausible denial". They don't have to, they're Russians.

Awesome! I'm going to use that at work!

I'm 90% certain that this program is not open source. FYSA.
Anyway, none of this makes sense, although it is hilarious. Why would a suicide bomber use a cell phone as a trigger? Was she gonna call herself in the middle of the party? Maybe it was a chicken switch, but the bomber's aren't supposed to know about that.
This is why we use DTMF decoder boards. Terrorism 101.
