care to guess? :munchin
Tons of sharp bone, its blood, gallbladder, & backbone marrow mixed with wine and honey makes a "body-warming" cocktail.
It's one of the QP's nickname;)
Hmm... I'm guessing cobra or snake of some sort. In Indonesia & other parts of Asia the cobra gall bladder and marrow cocktail is supposed to enhance metabolism, cure cancer, leukemia, diabetes, among other things.
We have plenty of QPs with snake-type names.... like Snaquebite, cobra, etc.
Did I get it right? ;)

well, I was referring to snake-eater, but you got it right :D
It's King Cobra
Frostfire, so you actually had the cobra marrow cocktail? Yum!
What is the blue-ish blob in the second photo?
Think I'll stick with something else that tastes like chicken............chicken!

What method did you use to cook and serve it?
Parsley, rosemary and honey are magical with snake, we used to cook a lot of sea snake and make terrines with them.
We also used to serve them on a plate with scallions. If we parpared them that way, we always blanche it first, then saute and baste it, finished the sauce with the pan juice and mustard.
Edit to add: the bones are rather easy to deal with; you filet the snake by cutting the meat along the backbone much in the same way one filets a fish. Taste: It does taste like chicken, an old barn yard bug eating, dirt scratching, scrawny one that is, but quite good.
On the topic of Cobras, I once read the poison sac of a cobra is considered a delicacy in certain areas. Since my source was likely a Dick Marcinko book back in school, for curiosity only, is this hyperbole?

o5,
it's the gallbladder....tasted like chic....errmmmm.....no.
Chef Penn, I neither cooked or served it. I wish.
I do know it was fried and used same seasoning as the local chicken recipe. Hence it tasted like chicken. I will find you a recipe.
Location is one of the 1st Group AO. I can coordinate for anyone interested in a culinary toul of local "delicacies":D No Reservation this ain't.
akv, I can't speak for all the snake recipes all around the world, but for this one, the head's chopped and went straight to trash or was dried and preserved for souvernir.

Roger:D
Here's a pre-cooked rattler before it went through the digestive system.
Also fried python (notice it's more meaty than the king cobra) and monitor-lizard kabob
