Yes they are. They have been rebuilding and taking lessons form the FARC and have now started to aligne their selfs with Narcos and sell security for them to gain funds. With money comes an increased capability. The economy, government and social situation is right for them and they will flourish in the coming year's. It is becoming in a few departments a trick to move around.

You and all of LATAM will be in our thoughts around here.
My family employs several Peruvians now, and some used to live in the Jungle, have family there, and are always on a heightened state of awareness for their relatives well-being.
The Peruvians we know are such great people. We have attended all of their US citizenship ceremonies, and to see their smiling faces so full of pride in America, is a reward unto itself.
It is a shame that these shining path terrorists are trying to resurge and reek havoc on these people.
