From 1957 through 1967,if you had military service earnings for active duty (including active duty for training). You paid social security and earned special extra earnings credits for active duty or active duty for training. From 1968 through 2001 you do not have to do anything to receive these extra credits. Or the old Gals, lol. I got earnings from 1990-2001. Not too bad, 11 years worth. $1200 extra in earnings per year for 11 years is an additional 13 grand. I ain't complaining.:D

Doesn't matter. By the time us young 'uns hit retirement social security won't be there anyway.
