Been watching many programs and some older documentaries all day today; the pain, emotion, and anger is as fresh today as it was 5 years ago.

God bless our fellow countrymen and women murdered that day and their families. And as always, prayers for our Military who have always been here for us and take the fight to the enemy.

RIP Sean Hanley, FDNY 11 September 2001.

Amen.

May God's blessings be upon our warriors and His arms closely hold those who have gone Home, victims and heroes, alike.

9/11 - Never forgotten.

To all those lost, or scarred by the attacks of 9/11 - Peace. To all those still in the fight against Terrorism, Drive On!

I lost 5 people I grew up with on 9/11 in the WTC, friends to AQ, and friends to the Taliban - none of you is ever forgotten, and some of you left long before we knew who was behind it.

A special prayer given by SGM Lamb at an SFC ANCOC graduation on September 12th, 2001. It is posted in the academy entry way.

"Lord, make me an instrument of your wrath.... Give me the strength to crush the insolent bastards that make war on my country.... Allow me to grind the bones of my enemy and drive his line to extinction.

All this I ask without remorse

Amen"

Awesome words......

MY prayer for our enemy.

May their butts grow shut and they drown in their own crap!

(A clean version of my prayer)

The blogging community got together and decided to honor each and every person who was killed in the attacks of 9/11 with a written tribute of their lives.

This site http://www.madmommajen.com/ has the list of every name as well as the blogger who wrote the tribute (name is hyperlinked, you can click to their tribute). Unfortunately the names are not alphabetized, so you might have to spend some time looking for someone in particular.

Thanks for the link Gypsy - found tributes to friends, written by strangers.

Like the new addition to the sig - wonder where it came from....

You're welcome x_sf, it was a pretty huge and sobering project from the looks of it. Amazing what folks can do when they put their minds to it.

RIP Fire Marshall Ron Bucca who gave his life on 11 Sep 2001 doing what he did and loved best. Fire Marshall Bucca was a former member of 11th SFG (A).

It was my GREAT honor to attend the SFQC graduation of his son, SSG Ronnie Bucca earlier this year. Ronnie wore his dad's beret when he walked across the stage! He is a warrior and is currently serving with 20th SFG (A).

You are both in my thoughts and prayers everyday, but particularly today. WE WILL NEVER FORGIVE AND NEVER FORGET!!!

RIP Sean Hanley, FDNY 11 September 2001. As I was nicely reminded, this is a bumped thread. 3 more years, not too much changed.

This day brings fresh emotion and difficulty holding back tears on an annual basis for me.

I serve because how could I not in light of those who have so willingly gone before? This is the day that thought hits home the most. God speed to those on the line. Hold hard. Keep the faith.

You are not forgotten.

May God bless those who lost their lives that day.
May God bless those who have lost their lives since as we continue to fight terrorism.
And may God give us strength to continue our fight for freedom.

thank you for the vid.

I still remember, and will never forget.

I woke up that day, saw the news, and almost called my former roommate who said indignantly America was impenetrable to tell him "I told you so." However, in deference to those who gave their lives that day, I decided not to. That day was one of the precipitating events for my pursuit of service in arms.
Had always known there are those who are incorrigible in this world, but 9/11 showed me evil can and will visit ordinary people just working their ordinary life. If I were to go out being blown to smitherines, I'd rather have that while fighting evil, not while working peacefully behind a computer. I play, I pay. As TR said once:

"Ain't no one getting out of this world alive. All you can do is try to have some choice in the way you go. Prepare yourself (and your affairs), and when your number is up, die on your feet fighting rather than on your knees. And make the SOBs pay dearly."

Rest in peace for the fallen ones
