One day I hope to see all bullet manufacturers engaging us with terminal/wound ballistics data....what happens in gelatin has no correlation to the human body.
Wouldn't it be informative if they were able to get reports from hospitals and coroners offices about the true wound ballistics of their bullet. Then true comparisons could be made and an informed decision can be rendered by the individual shooter on what to carry in their weapon.........I have a dream.
I encourage everyone to contact these manufacturers and have them pursue this kind of information so that the data presented means something rather than nothing.
All medications go through 'phases' of trials until they do it in humans....gelatin is a phase 1 trial and should be listed that way (no corrolation to performance in the human body can be stated) ....I wonder why it has taken so long for this discussion to happen ands when the past poor data will become useful data.
just my rambling.....

What would happen to all the dentists? I've heard for years that the dentists are the true internal, external and terminal ballistics experts and not the Trauma surgeons????

What they do for a living, who would then be able to dupe?

ballistics testimony

Last winter when I was in Texas, I had shot a deer. It was a .45ACP 230gr. COR-BON out of a 16 barrel. The shot was about 65 meters. I don't have any info on velocities but after dressing the deer, I am definitely a firm believer in HK carbines, .45 ACP and COR-BON. Entry was through a rib into it's heart. The round had flattened as expected, but the jacket had been peeled back and had come off. The round did not exit, I'm guessing it dumped all of its energy into the rib and heart. Between the broken rib, the copper jacket and the lead core, the inside was a mess. Yes this was a deer and those on this site are more worried about the 2 legged animals, but you can't deny the performance of that round.

If this is getting off topic or is better suited in another thread, please insert where best suited.

AMEN brother!!!
I told you not to repeat that in mixed medical company though. LOL

For those that don't know, TS was referring to the gelatin expert ofen quoted that happens to be a licensed dentist.
