Rank: E-9, Command Sergeant Major
He is the senior enlisted person in the Special Forces Battalion and the commander's principal advisor on matters pertaining to enlisted personnel. He supervises the daily training, operations, and administration of the Special Forces Battalion or Special Forces Group.

He is the senior enlisted person in the company and the commander's principal advisor on matters pertaining to enlisted personnel. He supervises the daily training, operations, and administration of the company.
18 Zulu- SPECIAL FORCES OPERATIONS SERGEANT
Team Sergeant (Rank: E-8, Master Sergeant)
Supervises, instructs and serves as the senior enlisted member for Special Forces activities. Trains and maintains proficiency in all major duties associated with Special Forces. The Team Sergeant performs administrative, operational and training duties during tasks organization of the ODA in mission preparation (isolation) and during Detachment operations. He also performs joint, combined and coalition planning and supervises operations for higher headquarters, major commands and joint commands. SF Master Sergeants also performs senior leadership, staff, and training functions within Special Forces companies, battalions, SF Groups and SF Command. Performs duties associated with SQI “M†(First Sergeant), “P†(Parachutists), and “H†(Instructor).
The Team Sergeant is the senior enlisted man on the A-Team. He is responsible for overseeing all Team operations, missions and managing all enlisted personnel on the Team. Sometimes known as the "Team Daddy", he is usually the person who actually runs the Team. He can recruit, organize, train, and supervise indigenous combat forces up to battalion size.
