What are your dove limits over there?

Not very generous. I went rock pigeon and dove shooting over corn at the beginning of our season. The Rockies are considered to be a pest here and can be shot in their hundreds. Once we started shooting, the sky was black with them wheeling and jinxing in the blue winters sky. I stopped counting at thirty, but must have shot over fifty.

Rock pigeons are a nuisance pest over here and there is no season or limit on them. The mourning dove is the most targeted species. We also have Eurasioan Doves and spotted ring-necked doves which are also classified as a non-native species. There is no season or limit on them. We have a small species, the Mexican Ground Dove that is protected...

Iowa is only in it's third season, it practically took an act of congress in order to have a season, Mourning Doves seemed to really tug at the heart strings of the anti hunting crowd and those people put up quite a resistance.

PRB- Arizona is a great quail hunting state. You have Gambel's, Mearn's and Scaled Quail. California has more hunters than Az but more quail are harvested in Arizona than California. I am going to Nevada for Chukar or I would be in Arizona for the quail opener.

The special season opened here yesterday, I managed 13 white wing and 2 mourning doves. That is the daily bag limit.
