Important - Titles
We have been discussing titles for the members of the board. We have yet to come up with anything good for the Junior and Senior Members. We're talking about 0-30 posts and 30 and above, non-SF, general membership.
We're looking for serious ideas and since you will be the users, we think its a good idea for you to input. So let's hear what you think. Keep in mind the environment.

This True Believer is not concerned about 'how hard it is;' he knows either he wins or dies. He doesn't go home at 17:00, he is home.

No, it can't be related to SF training. Where does that leave those that are actually in the program? You can't say you're "In The Pipeline" just because you have a certain number of posts on the internet.

What about those of us who have credentials who don't have a lot of posts?
I propose a two tiered system:
1. A title system based on matching titles with qualifications, for those with qualifications - titles changed by site admins following verifications.
2. A second 'system assigned' title structure based on the number of posts. What those title names are I leave to the admins/moderators of the site.

I was thinking along these lines. Perhaps for all non-military members it can stay as follows:
0-30 posts Junior (or New) Member
30-100 posts Member
100+ posts Senior Member

What about following the levels of a sport? - say Scuba :-)
0-30 - novice
30-100 - adventurer
> 100 - master
(skipped a few levels). Opens up the medic references as well.
I'll go back into hiding now.

I don't really care, but I have to say there's something about the word member that gives me the giggles.

Call me jaded but it seems like you'd need at least an A7A strap to go with that 30+ to be impressive.

I say leave it alone "as is". The number of posts only gets you a "member" status or whatever. For non-SF (not verified Quiet Professionals) posters, any other custom titles can be given as they are earned from the mods or admin. Ex. RL's little mob title. Everyone is the same title unless the ADMIN or Mod's decide to change that particular users title.
I do like to see custom ones for the frequent /well respected contributors (ex. Doc T). Otherwise, who really cares what their title says if it is based on post count alone. Just my .02 Senior NDD
