Drunk soldiers get entire Brigade grounded in Germany

Five soldiers from the 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division were arrested for driving under the influence while riding electric scooters through the streets of Grafenwoehr, Germany. The U.S. based unit has been training at the facility for the past several months in response to Russia's invasion of Ukraine. The entire Brigade is prohibited from leaving the training base until they have been retrained on the responsible consumption of alcohol.

Those five troopers have a lot of personnel pissed off at them right now.

Haaa, that was the norm back in the day...

When I was in the 1/509th I don't remember how many NCO clubs we got kicked out of in the 70's-80's while training abroad...

electric scooters

not sure how I feel about that
-not a bulldozer stolen from the motor pool
-they weren't drag racing rough terrain forklifts
-they weren't doing 15 miles an hour on the shoulder of the autobahn
-they weren't doing 75 through the housing area in a rental car

electric scooters got the entire brigade locked down
...they should have just settled for shitting on the chests of 10 dollar hookers

SMH… Those folks today would not recognize the third ID from the early 80s! We resembled the crew from Animal House when we returned from the wood line.

Since the unit’s arrival in Germany, five soldiers have been charged with DUI for riding e-scooters while intoxicated, Connelly said.

In Germany, rentable e-scooters have become ubiquitous in recent years, particularly on sidewalks. That has led to occasions of troops running afoul of German law, which treats e-scooters the same as motor vehicles when it comes to blood alcohol limits.
Well, there's the problem. It seems that riding an electric scooter drunk would be a self correcting problem.

What, did the scooter riding soldiers take out a BMW or Audi on the autobahn?
