If I wanted to kill something that far away, I would use a letter bomb.

Actually Guy, I'm glad you brought this up .... This is addressed to anyone, not just Guy ...

Based on the type of weapon used and distance, how much impact would the round have on a soft target such as human flesh?

Get yer protractors and slide rulers out .... and go ....

The terminal figures look like this.
Velocity at target: 850.7 fps
Energy at target: 562.4 ft-lbs
Its a big 350gr bullet and it is traveling about the same as my short barreled Colt .45 pistol's bullet comes out of the muzzle. It would put a big hole in you in a downward trajectory. The max hight of the trajectory is about 330 feet.

CheyTac has some pretty impressive ballistics.

Yip. A MV of 3200 for a .375 , 350gr bullet is quite something. It has a ballistic co-efficient around.998 too. Although .375 is my favourite calibre, the Chey Tac doesn't seem to be related to the grand old (103 yrs) H&H case. It is not belted. When the .375 H&H was introduced just over a hundred years ago, it too quickly gained a reputation as a fine long distance round. It won the British 1000 yd tournament many years running.
