There really isn't as much double speak as people think. More often than not an institution will tell you EXACTLY what their position is.
I have said it over and over again to anyone that will listen - when someone tells you who they are, BELIEVE THEM !!!

The Army is concerned with
"MINIMUM STANDARDS". We are spending MILLION$ of dullards (sic) going as far down the rabbit hole as it takes to find a way to create a minimum standard that can be reached by
"ALL SOLDIERS". We are zealously striving for mediocrity across the force. If we can find a baseline MINIMUM standard that can be reached by ALL soldiers, we can claim victory in our effort to prove that everyone is the same.
As an example:
It doesn't matter that the current
world record female 100 meter dash has been stuck at 10.49 since 1988 (and is disputed because of faulty wind readings - the adjusted record is a controversial 10.61)
The
25th fastest men's 100 Meter dash is a 9-Way tie at 9.89 - you dont even get to compete for the gold as a man if you aren't breaking the 10 second barrier - a 40 year old man ran a 9.93 in 2016.
The average High School sprinter (male or female) can do it in about 13 or 14 - so, if the minimum standard is a 14 second 100 meter dash...
...yes, all age, gender, and occupational specialties would be equal
The ACFT is no different. We are adjusting the task to meet the standard. That is not how you prepare for winning in direct human combat. You train to a standard that meets the task. You cant make 100 meters shorter. You cant make the clock run slower. Massage the rules enough and you can find a common "MINIMUM standard" when your declarative statement is, "
We expect all soldiers to meet the exact same minimum standards, regardless of age, gender, or occupational specialty,"
We like to give long boring LPD speeches about near peer threats and great power competition - and we present those stupid fucking lectures and empty headed pod cast discussions centered around a core of "minimum standards" that are massaged and polished to make everyone sound equal.
We repeatedly and even SHAMELESSLY use phrases like r
educing obstacles to training or suggest that we are somehow
eliminating barriers that will allow more people to "join" when all that crap really is just a fancy euphemism for "manipulating the standards" so that we can reach our goal of being able to say that all soldiers can meet the exact same minimum standard.
Its all about equity and fairness you stupid mother fuckers.
