First, we need national leadership with such a vision as well as a national stomach to watch it happen.

Otherwise we end up being politically forced into paying to undo in front of the cameras the very work we are doing behind the cameras.

I'd arm Assad thru a 3rd party with enough 'stuff' to keep him afloat and then 'encourage' Sunni Jihad against the Shia infidel.
