Pig Hunt
Boar Hunt in Central California coast region on the Mee Ranch using Nessen Schmidt guide service. The guide estimated the weight of this boar at 225 pounds. I used a Model 70 in .270 Win. The ammo was a hand load- 140gr Barnes TSX bullet, 39gr of IMR 3031. Range was about 100 yards. I had to wait for this one to run between trees. When he got to the window, I fired and dropped him.

Nice Mark, you should let us know how he tastes...
A good Wild Pig hunt is on my list, love critters that'll fight back, especially when they taste good too!

They taste very good. I keep the loins and backstraps, the rest goes into sausage.

That sure is a small picture.
Being that I just picked up a new .308 I'll have to get up there one of these days and give it a try.

Great job! Besides being obviously successful, were you happy with the guide service? How much was the hunt? I've been thinking about a CA hog hunt for a while now.

Divemaster- The cost is $575.00 for a weekend hunt. We have hunted with them for the last five years and have gotten to know the guides and they look forward to guiding us. We have never not gotten animals. They have hunting rights to over 100,000 acres of land. All fair chase, no canned hunts. They are real cowboys, most raise cattle or are involved closely with the cattle industry. Just a good, down to earth bunch of guys. Here is the link to his website-
