Army to restructure special wounded soldier units

Not being in this medical area I don't know it's impact. It will impact the individuals at those closing locations but would appear to make sense.


"As combat operations continue to slow, the U.S. Army has announced a restructuring of the special units created to care for its wounded soldiers.

Under a plan announced Thursday, the Army will close five of its 29 warrior transition units while establishing more than a dozen community care units across 11 installations, according to a release.

The changes, which will take place by Sept. 30, are meant to better serve a dwindling wounded warrior population caused by the scheduled withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan, officials said......"
