TAPs for Steven Gernet (10th SFG)

Guys; received the sad news today from Kim Carruthers.

Special Forces (10th SFG), 2/75th Ranger and brother Steven Gernet was KIA, 23 JAN 07 over the Tammuz bridge while flying in a Bell 500 “little bird” as a door gunner for Blackwater over Baghdad. Steve retired in 2005 from 10th group out of Carson, Kim & Steve served together from 95-97 with LRSD - good mother fucker 18F4VW9.

Please send condolences, donations and support to Steve’s wife Colleen. Kim got the message over a secure net about 1 hour ago, Steve was doing what we all are doing and he believed in our mission and to take it to and kick the enemy in the ass!!!

Colleen does not know when Steve will be brought home, but she is planning a military service and celebration of Steve’s life on Friday, February 2.

As Colleen gets more information, she will send out the details.

Colleen

Steve will be missed

steve G-man

Didnt get a chance to post to this when it happened...

Steve was a great guy, friendly, dependable, all around great person.

I attended the service in the Springs, lots of guys turned out, Rick T was in town and spoke. I think there was a good after service gathering that went well also.

Good pic of Steve and bracelet offer from this link:
