Groceries in the Raeford area

Aside from the usual Food Lion and Wal-Mart, where would one find a decent selection of meats and food stuffs in the Raeford area? I know of the Fresh Market in the Southern Pines area, but that would be a monthly kind of trip. Any help would be great.....and if I missed a thread of the same topic please redirect me.

You are in Hoke County.

Raeford is the only incorporated city, IIRC.

Unless you are looking for chittlins and hog jowls, you will probably have to broaden your search and drive time.

For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear.

I live in the Raeford area as well, wait a bit a new Harris Tetter is being built on Stoney Point Road across from Jack Britt. If you can't wait then you have a choice of the drive to Fresh Market, about 35 - 40 minutes, or to the Harris Tetter on Raeford Road by Highland Shopping Center just before Robeson, about a 20 minute drive.

Your choice.

For meats there are a number of good butchers with some out just as far.

The rest of you are just mean!!! (Dam that sounded like a liberal statement, OOOOPPPPSSSS.

Google: Raeford NC Farmers Market

Google: North Carolina farms beef/lamb

Google: North Carolina farms pork

Google: North Carolina farms free range chickens

Proteins are all over the state, probably great stuff too.

Frozen is fine. Start planning a drive on a Saturday to a Farmers Market, support the local economy, not China or Kalif....

My Google-fu is weak today....or I need more of this Herradura. Thanks for the help all, especially TS. Moving to the Fayetteville side of Hoke county off Fayetteville Rd end of June time frame so I was looking for some intel on the area. I'm off for more Herradura and Google time.

Oh, and I think I'll pass on the chittlins and jowls. My last experience did not end well.

For meats, cheeck out Hardin's in Rockfish... it's about the best you're going to get in the area until the new Harris Teeter opens up. Their freshly-frozen vegatables are pretty good, also.

Ok, new question....Where is the best place in the area to find a non-standard beer selection? The ABC by the Wally World has a decent selection of spirits, could be better, but no idea where to look for beer or wine.

It's a drive but try Grapes and Hops on 401 north across from Methodist College.
Closer is Bob and Sheree's on 401 about 5 blocks past McPherson Church Intersection.

Have fun.

It is only gay to you Philistines Dusty.

Chow and beer can be found anywhere. Now Good Chow and Beer - that deserves a thread.

lol I'll concede and will have to plead age and naivete as excuses.

There weren't any "designer" dining or beverage choices when I was at Bragg except maybe at the Kimchee Store or Pedro's.
