W.L. Weller Bourbon
I have not tried this yet, but I bought a couple of bottles after a very knowledgeable guy at a store I frequent told me that it is made using the same recipe as PVW and is basically identical in taste to the 12 y/o VW, but costs a LOT less.
Anyone have views on the stuff?

An old friend gave me a bottle of barrel proof WLW when I was promoted to SGM. Very good bourbon!

My sister has two of those waiting for me at her house in Kentucky. Her daughter gave us the heads up and as always she went out and got me some for my collection. For some reason my collection never grows much as the bottles keep draining for some reason.....
Do not like drinking alone so my stash has grown some since arriving here on the island.......

I tried it. At $14 a bottle, this is top-shelf stuff. It does compare favorably to the 12 y/o Van Winkle.

That is quite the commendation. Do you know if the flavor is consistent bottle-to-bottle?
