MG Carl H. McNair Jr. RIP
MG Carl H. McNair Jr.
RIP Warrior, Vaya con Dios 🙁
I was very privileged to have known Carl for the last 7 yrs. We shared whisky(s) and reminisced about our times with the 1st Cav in Viet Nam. Carl and his wife had a unit in my condo
As a young officer, Carl was one of the early chopper pilots in the 1st Cav. I believe 65-66 and another trip 68-69? Carl had over 6000 hrs of flight time, with 1578 in combat.
MG McNair had a long and distinguished career of 32 years with the U.S. Army with his finest accomplishments serving as the first Branch Chief of Army Aviation.
MG McNair's awards include the Distinguished Service Medal [2], Legion of Merit [3], Distinguished Flying Cross [4], Bronze Star [2] with “V” device, 51 Air Medals, the French Order of National Merit, and the Order of Merit from Korea.
