You are wise and your views are held high, but I think you have approached a fork in the road and not seen the choice..
Many will take the Blue path and think their rightness will eliminate war by virtue of their cause. AND you're correct that the new information highway of the internet will readily spread the news faster and further.
While others, like Putin, will recognize the sheeple's errors and take the Red path, knowing that those on the Blue path have already relinquished their abilities to defend themselves, thinking Monsters will fain exposure to the masses in the light of the vast presence of the internet's information highway..
Make no mistake, Putin will go down in history as a Monster, not unlike Idi Amin Dada, Hitler, or Stolin,,
but he will also be compared to Alexandra the Great, Lincoln, or Gandhi. Someone that ignored the naivety of the Blue path and did what he thought was right..
The more that select the Blue path, the more we will have Monsters on the Red path
