HK417 or a SCAR Mk.17

gents,

When considering the HK417 and the FN SCAR 17.

- which do you consider to be the superior rifle?

- which would you rather goto war with?

- do you see specific problems with either one?

- do you hate either of these rifles?

I have not used a 417 but carried a 416D for 3 years in Iraq and it was a rock solid gun, however, there were problems experienced by some in the community. The SCAR, I thought, was a good rifle but preferred the HK.

The H&K is superior in all aspects German engineering.

the SCAR is a piston design like the H&K and great in that respect but typical design flaws that were unexplained for engineers to have missed design issues like butt stock to cheek weld. Like the M-16 series the designers IMO were intentionally designing it with small flaws for later upgrades.

The H&K is my weapon of choice but quality costs money.
