Emergency use of Parachute manual
Have been lookin for a copy of the manual on “emergency uses of the parachute”. I believe it was packed with the parachute, that both Army and Air Force had their own designations and there were several issue dates. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I see an Air Force Pamphlet TM 10-1670-1 ,1 Jan 1977 but thought there would be more selections. Thank you.

No help but is it similar to this one from 1945 that the AAF had? Pocket pamphlet size.
Just asking in case I run across some obscure hidden gem for you while browsing a gunshow.

Badger thank you, I’m not sure how much it has changed throughout the years. I did down load a 1956 version from a British Skydiving Org. Under Survival and Emergency uses of the Parachute.
https://britishskydiving.org/wp-cont...val-Manual.pdf
Not as much to that as I thought. I’d be interested in either Army or Air Force version. Need to find my Air Force Survival Manual 64-5 to see if it duplicates. It would still be an interesting reference.

Gotcha. I'll stick it on the BOLO list for post- deer season gunshows that crop up.

Thank you. It’s been awhile but, out of curiosity, I seem to remember a sleeve that the Riggers Log lived in, I suspect that’s where the pamphlet lived?
Maybe it was from videos but I have several images in my head about deconstructing the parachute and harness for survival uses. I thought it might be interesting to create a pamphlet in the same for liners and shells. Taking apart your gear in a survival situation might not occur to someone in duress but it could be life saving ie some of the sleep configurations and shelters made once you take it down and sew with 550 core strands.
Should someone be able to part with said manual, I could offer up a liner
Any contacts at Fairchild AFB?

I had a harness from the days when I had to stand out on Huey skids to drop ADSIDs and the only thing in the pocket was the rigger's log.
