I was suspicious about that one.
Hence the “supposedly” qualifier.
There does seem to be consistency with the elements of the kid being a loner, being rejected from the gun club, and poor marksmanship.
But the gun skill issue was as a freshman, and it’s entirely possible that he improved his skill over the next 5 years.
Poor staffing and communication could explain the incomplete coverage outside the perimeter.
To me, the curious puzzle piece is the ladder in a convenient spot where he could ascend out of view.

On top of that the shooter had to walk or ride to get to building he climbed upon while carrying a gun and/or something that contained and concealed a gun…….and apparently no one saw or stopped him during his travel.

Reading a lot on this...since any search of the area failed to find the 12 FOOT LADDER he had hidden in a tree next to the LAW ENFORCEMENT COMMAND POST that he used as his static platform, it is not unreasonable to think that he could have cached his weapon there with the ladder as well.
How the USSS and local LE had eyes on this guy for 26 minutes, took a photo of him on the ground and on the roof (sans firearm), and reported him with a rangefinder in hand with nothing done begs so many questions.
