Valor ceremony to recognize 3rd Special Forces Group Soldiers

FORT BRAGG, N.C. (USASOC News Service, Sept. 9, 2011) – More than 30 valor awards will be awarded to Soldiers of the 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne) during an awards ceremony Sept. 15 at 9 a.m. at the United States Army John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School’s Auditorium.


Being presented will be: two Silver Stars, 22 Bronze Stars with “V” device and eight Army Commendation Medals with “V” device. In addition, 11 Soldiers will receive the Purple Heart.


The Soldiers are receiving the awards in recognition of their actions during recent deployments in support of overseas contingency operations.
